Difference: Fake vs Unrecognized vs Autonomous

Many students get confused. Here is the difference:

  • Fake University: It does not exist legally. It cannot award degrees. It is a scam.
  • Unrecognized College: It might be a real college but doesn't have approval for a specific course. (e.g., A college valid for B.Com but running an illegal B.Tech course).
  • Autonomous College: A valid college (like St. Xavier's) that has the power to set its own syllabus, but the degree comes from a Parent University. This is VALID.
